Compensation System for Electric Railway Lines

Emerging with developing technology; rapid urbanization, energy shortage and intense population growth have made transportation a major problem. Both in city and intercity transportation, the importance of rail systems is increasing day by day. In modern rail systems, electric train operations are used. In this study, the energy quality problem in electric railway lines is investigated; while different train sets are active, the changes in TCDD Arifiye Transformer Station were observed and the necessity of the Static Compensation System with Thyristor was revealed
