Feline Vaccine-Associated Sarcomas: Surgical Results in 18 CatsAbstract: The purpose of this study is to report the diagnosis and surgical outcomes of vaccine-related sarcomas that are formed after injection in cats. In this study 18 cats in different gender, age and weights were evaluated by the complaint of post-injection mass formation. It was found that masses were often formed in interscapular (n:7), lumbar (n:5) regions of body that is preferred generally for subcutaneous injection applications. Masses were removed surgically with a wide incision as possible. Histopathological examinations revealed fibrosarcoma (n: 12), fibroosteocondrosarcoma (n:4), fibromyxosarcoma (n:2). Intraoperativly, deep muscle tissue and surrounding tissue infiltration was detected in 13 cases. After 3 months to 1 year of the surgery, 14 cases recurrenced. It was obtained that in all of the recurrent cases, the mass formed again in the previous operation line and did not metastasize to the distant tissues
