Investigation of critical thinking dispositions of health manager

This research was conducted with the aim of determining the critical thinking tendencies of the health administrators working in the health facilities of Konya Provincial Health Directorate. The working group for descriptive type research included 114 health administrators that have managerial duties in health facilities. For data collection, personal survey forms designed by the authors and California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI) scale translated by (K？kdemir 2003: 66) were used. Collected data were evaluated by percent, average, standard deviation, Kruskal-Wallis test and Independent-Samples T test results. Administrators’ total points average according to California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI) scale was found at a low level of 229,79±20.70. The average age of the health administrators was 39,04±6,31. %50.9 of the group has an undergraduate degree and %69.3 has worked between 1-5 years as administrator. Education programs for health administrators must be designed methods which will improve their critical thinking skills.
