Carbon Footprint Investigation of Konya/Sel?uklu DistrictKeywords: Sera Gaz?,Karbondioksit,Karbon Ayak ?zi,Emisyon,Ula??m Abstract: In this study, the carbon dioxide gas which is known as an indicator of carbon footprint usually associated with a product, service or activity was evaluated. Greenhouse gas emissions are calculated by using the methodologies explained as Tier approaches which are recommended by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Carbon footprint of the Sel?uklu district was calculated as 0.94 million ton of CO2 in 2015. Industrial contributions were not included in this study. The emissions from domestic use was found as the main factor for increasing footprint with 56%. Then the second contribution is the use of energy for transportation sector with 41%. The lowest emission source is solid wastes with 3%. Key performance indicators of the district were 1.55 tCO2/capita and 457 tCO2/km2. It was concluded that, the Carbon Footprint of the province is lower than the world and Turkey’s average. In addition, it has been found that intensive afforestation work carried out in the district has a significant contribution to the decrease of the carbon footprint by absorbing approximately 612360 tons of CO2
