THE EFFECT OF ARABIC-TO-TURKISH BORROWING WORDS AS A UNDERSTANDING AND LEARNING ARABIC VOCABULARY

Learning a foreign language is complex process that requires serious efforts. Many elements can be part of this process. At the beginning of these elements comes word learning and vocabulary. From past to present, many strategies have been developed in order to memorize a word. Systematic new vocabulary learning strategies can be developed for each language because of its unique structure. Especially there are great facilities for the target group who learn Arabic as the target language and their native language is Turkish. The origin of many Turkish words are etymologically based Arabic language. This closeness between the two languages has the potential to provide serious unmissable opportunities for language learning. This strategy, which will increase the motivation of those whose mother tongue is Turkish and who is learning Arabic, or whose language proficiency is at the beginning level, will make the Arabic learning process longer and healthier. This work is done in order to reveal the structure of Arabic and Turkish word structure and the possibility of word learning strategies. By this means, those who speak Arabic as a foreign language and have a mother tongue in Turkish will have serious advantages in learning and understanding vocabulary
