THE KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDES OF NURSING STUDENTS ABOUT THE FACTORS AFFECTING FERTILITYKeywords: Hem?irelik,??renci,fertilite,bilgi,tutum Abstract: Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the knowledge and attitudes of nursing students about the factors affecting fertility. Method: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 396 students in the first, second, third and fourth grades who were trained in the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University between October-December 2017. The research data were collected by the questionnaire form prepared by the researchers. The data were evaluated by descriptive statistics. Findings: The average age of the students was 20.2 ± 1.8 and the sex of 87.1% was females. When the information status of the students about the factors affecting fertility was examined; It was identified to thought lifestyle factors that negatively affected fertility that 73.5% of them was older age, 77.5% was obesity, 82.3% was reproductive organ anomalies, 82.3% of testicular diseases, 85.1% of hormonal disorders, 75.8% of hypothalamic-pituitary diseases, 76.0% of them are sexually It was determined that the rate of transmission of the transmitted disease, 76% of the occupational exposures and 82.1% of the participants thought that exposure to potential chemical and physical toxic substances would negatively affect the fertility. Of the students, 83.3% had cigarette consumption, 79.3% had alcohol use, 79.8% had substance use, 54% did not exercise regularly, 85.4% had unhealthy nutrition and hormonal food consumption, 57.8% had sleep disorder, 74% It was found that 68.7% of the patients had the use of laptops and 67.7% of them thought that the use of mobile phones were. When the attitudes of nursing students about the lifestyle factors affecting fertility was examined; It was found that 78.3% were smokers, 81.3% did not use alcohol and 99.7% did not use drugs, 41.4% did exercise regularly, 63.1% had a healthy diet, 57.3% had irregular sleep, and 69.9% had anxiety. 54.0% were use a laptop and 98.2% were use mobile phones. Conclusion: Majority of nursing students have knowledge about factors affecting fertility. However, it is seen that although they have knowledge, many of them have attitudes towards lifestyle which will negatively affect fertility
