Development of the Meaningful Learning Self- Awareness ScaleKeywords: Anlaml? ??renme,D. Ausubel,Ezbere ??renme,Bilgiyi transfer etme Abstract: Meaningful learning is as an educational concept introduced by David Ausubel that means binding of new knowledge with preliminary information and mapping cognitive structure according to new learnings and so transferring them to daily life. According to theory meaningful learning come true along with five steps: The first step is inquiring and reviewing of preliminary information about the newly learned subject. At the second step newly learned subject should be analyzed with regards to its concepts, argumentation, thesis, sources etc. The third step is essential to compare the newly learned concepts, argumentation and thesis with preliminary information. At the fourth step learner should make self-regulation. The last step is transferring the new meanings and knowledges to solve problems in daily life. The purpose of this study was to develop a scale of the meaningful learning self-awareness depending on Ausubel’s theory. The study was conducted among 469 BEU Theology Faculty students in the spring of 2018. Exploratory factor analyses being used to test the construct validity of the scale. The Cronbach alpha analysis was used to calculate the internal consistency coefficient. Pearson correlation coefficient was calculated to determine the correlation between the scale factors. At all stage of the study, total item correlation value was calculated to determine item validity and internal consistency of the scale. Results of analyses has been revealed that scale of “Meaningful Learning Self Awareness Scale” meets the validity and reliability criteria. The internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach’s Alpha) was calculated as .913. According to results of factor analyzes the scale has formed as a structure 5 factors and 24 items constituting. The structure of the scale has mostly been compatible with the theoretical structure of meaningful learning
