Political System of Iran after the Revolution: A Constructivist Approach

A unique revolution occurred in 1979 caused numerous changes in Iran’s political system. This situation also changed Iran’s relations with other actors in international system. According to Khomeini’s “Velayet-i Fakih” theory, Iran placed its identity on Shia and shaped its relations with other actors though this new identity. The post revolution era of Iran’s political system has been evaluated through a constructivist approach, which displayed alteration term by term. The most apparent progress observed after the revolution is increasing transparency and dissolvement of the system through the time. Especially, relations, both economic and political, with the West have been developed after the early phase of the revolution
