Performance Analysis of REITs Quoted in Borsa Istanbul for the Term of 2007-2016 with the Using of TOPSIS Method

Contruction and real estate activities have an important impact on stability of Turkish economic growth. In our country, REITs are acting a significant function in the enchancing of effectiveness and efficiency in construction and real estate activities. For that reason, the success in REITs’ performance adds value to Turkish economic growth directly. In this article, the performance criterions based on statements of financial position and profit or loss belonging to 31 REITs quoted in Borsa Istanbul (BIST) were reviewed by using TOPSIS method and the performance changing was analysed for the term of 2007-2016. The results revealed that 2007 was the best financial performance period in that term, after that period the financial performance decreased gradually year by year until 2012, the financial performance was at the lowest level in 2012, after that year financial performance increased until 2016 but it decreased again in 2016 Those findings should be carefully interpreted by sectoral specialists and policy makers
