The New Turkish Industrial Property Code

Turkish Industrial Property Act (IPA) was entered into force on January 10, 2017. Trademark, patent, utility model, design, geographical indication and traditional product name were regulated under IPA. By preparing this act, the legislator aimed to harmonize Turkish intellectual property system with EU system and to solve the problems experienced in practice. In this study, the essential changes in Turkish industrial property system will be explained after putting across the historical development of Turkish intellectual property regulations and the enactment period of the IPA
