Impact of Intraventrícular Administration of SWAP-70 Antibody Positive Multiple Sclerosis Serum Antibodies on Motor Activity and Brain HistologyKeywords: IgG,santral sinir sistemi,Multipl skleroz, lokomotor aktivite, histoloji Abstract: DOI: 10.26650/experimed.2018.377256 Objectives: Antibodies directed against SWAP-70 have been recently identified in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients and found to be associated with disease prognosis. Our aim was to find out the potential actions of these antibodies on the nervous system. Material and Method: Purified IgG was obtained from pooled sera from 4 each MS patients with and without SWAP-70 antibodies and 5 healthy controls and administered into lateral ventricles of mice (n=10 for each group). Results: There were no significant differences among treatment groups by means of muscle strength, which was evaluated by motor activity test. Similarly, no significant differences could be found in brain immunohistochemistry examinations among different IgG groups. Conclusion: Our results argue against a profound neurotoxic or neuroprotective action of MS IgG on neurons in this passive transfer animal model of MS
