Investigation of the Relationship between Life Satisfaction Levels and Academic Motivation Levels of the Students of the Faculty of Sport Sciences

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between academic motivation and life satisfaction level of university students of Faculty of Sport Sciences. In line with this aim, the research sample consists of 461 students randomly selected from the Faculty of Sport Sciences in Erciyes University. To collect data, the study used Academic Motivation Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale and 'Personal Information Form' which was created by the researcher. The data obtained through the Personal Information Form was statistically analyzed using SPSS 20.0 package program. The candidates' personal information and inventory total scores and factor points were presented by calculating frequency (f) and percentage (%) values. Pearson Moment Correlation Coefficient analysis (r) was performed to indicate the relationship between the points obtained from the scales while multiple regression analysis was performed to identify whether the points are predictor of each other (β). As a result, it is concluded that there is a significant relationship between academic motivation and life satisfaction and life satisfaction scores of those with high academic motivation level are high
