A General Review on Aventurine GlazesKeywords: Aventürin s?rlar?,Tarih?e,Sanat Abstract: Glaze is a glassy layer covering ceramic substrates as a thin film (approx. 100 micro meter). The most desired property seeked for in ceramic glazes is to form physical and chemical bonds with substrates onto which they are applied under normal conditions. Glazes can be classified according to common characteristics (depending on composition: fritted and fritless; in terms of optical properties: transparent, opaque, crystalline; with surface properties: glossy, crackle, fluid, matte, crystalline, aventurine, reduction glazes etc.). In the present paper it will be mentioned about aventurine glazes belonging to crystalline glaze group and formed as a result of saturation of high alkali and quartz based glazes with iron, copper or chromium oxides
