A Rare Cause Of A Generalized Convulsion In Infants: Ingestion Of Sage Oil

Abstract Salvia officinalis is a Swiss - based medical sage which is useable in various cli-nical situations and also easily obtainable in our country. This sage's oil contains thujone camphor and cineole which have refreshing and relaxing effects and inconvenient to use in pregnant women and children who are younger than ten years old. Thisoil aimed to use for treatment of bronchitis, asthma, dental pain and acnes; also as an antibacterial, diuretic, anti- inflammatory, expectorant and spasmolytic. We aim to present misuse of sage oil, which is prepared for topical use by a herbalist but mistakenly used orally, in a 38 days old infant which caused convulsion with that case report
