Abstract:

Ala?ehir is one of the important settlements in Western AnatoliaThe city made history with having first one of the Seven Churches built by Christians on the Anatolian soil, came to the forefront in the Ottoman period with various Turkish-Islamic building types, came to the forefront in the Ottoman period with various Turkish-Islamic building types. Ala?ehir (Sülün Muslu Pasha) Bath which is one of these structures reflects the richness of the Ottoman architecture. The Ala?ehir (Sülün Muslu Pasha) Bath, which carries the general properties of the Ottoman bath architecture, is designed as a double turkish bath which will provide separate services for women and men. Both sections have a scheme as cross vault, three iwans (vaulted or domed space recessed from a central hall or court) and two private rooms. With reference to its caldarium, plan and the name of Sülün Muslu Pasha, we think of the building as being built as the end of the 16th and first quarter of the 17th century, considering it as to be very valuabe since it is the only bath in Ala?ehir which has reached the present from the past. Nowadays, the men section of the bath where the women section is not used starts to move away from the original plan diagram due to various joints. In this article, Ala?ehir (Sülün Muslu Pasha) Bath was examined in terms of plan and ornamentation properties and was tried to determine the location in Turkish bath’ architecture of the building
