Falnama Danyal ？Aleyhi’s-Selam (Text-Analysis-Glossary)

Human beings have wanted to learn and guide the future since its existence. The desire for this curiosity and foresight led him to be in search of new things and doubts about the future, the desire to be successful and happy led people to develop a number of methods. Throughout history, from the primitive societies to the modern world, from the stars in the sky to the stone, water, fire, mirror, coffee, various objects have been interpreted in a good and bad way, and these comments are met with the word fortune-telling which means hap, chance and luck. The fortune-telling, which has a deeply rooted history and extends to almost all areas of life, also appears as a literary genre. Both the verse and prose works were written about fortune-telling, and these were generally called falnama.In this study, a manuscript named “Fālnāme Dānyāl ‘Aleyhis-selām” in the first twenty-three folio of a document which is registered with the number 64 in the Gunnar Jarring Collection of Swedish Lund University Library under the name of an” A Composite Volume” is dealt with. By preparing the transcribed text of this work, which is written with Arabic letters and the theme of geomancy, a functional language analysis has been made and a glossary containing the words in the text has been prepared
