The Relationship Between Economic Growth And Electricity Consumption in Turkey

The purpose of this study is to reveal the relationship between economic growth and electricity consumption in Turkey. In this context, the study consists of three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the conceptual framework of energy. Definition and importance of energy, energy resources and then the general situation of energy resources in Turkey are explained in detail in this chapter. After examining the general overview of electrical energy, the general properties of electricity sector is discussed. In the second chapter of the study, the concept of economic growth which forms the basis of the study is explained. Definition of economic growth, concepts related to economic growth, determinants of economic growth, economic development concept and growth models are explained in detail and measurement of economic growth is handled. The third chapter is the application chapter of the study. In this part, literature review and research methodology are given first. The model and data are presented after the related literature summary is presented. Then the research is completed by giving data analysis. Eviews is used for analyzing research data and the results obtained are interpreted in comparison with the literature in conclusion
