Profile of Students in Special Education Education Undergraduate Programs and Their Views on the Field

While teaching is one of the most important and challenging occupational groups for societies, special education teaching has become even more remarkable with new regulations. The purpose of special education teacher program is; To provide individuals with special needs to be independent, productive and active participants in the society, to know and apply different teaching techniques and methods, to offer education and support services to individuals and families with special needs, to work in cooperation with different disciplines, to be sensitive to the problems of the field and to comply with the ethical principles of the profession. ; to educate teachers who have the knowledge, skills and skills to fulfill the requirements of the information age. In this study, the profile of the students in the special education teacher program in various universities was examined and their opinions about the field were tried to be put forward. As a result of the research, the general profile of the students of Special Education Teacher Department is 92.21%, at least one foreign language (57.8%), double major / non-minor program (95.45%), It was observed that individuals who made motivations (49%), had a career plan (88%) and did not examine the academic staff of the department (57.14%). It is noteworthy that 66.2% of them are high school graduates, 33.8% of them are bachelors, 0.6% of them are graduate and 34.6% of them are graduates of education faculties
