Abstract: AbstractThe Effect of Professional Motivation Level on Perception of Nursing Profession of Nursing StudentsBackground: It is important for nursing students to have a positive perception and hold on the profession as well as positive motivation in achieving academic success, adapting to the profession and maintaining a productive working life. Objectives: The aim of this study is to identify the effect of the professional motivation levels on the perception of nursing profession among the students studying at the department of nursing. Methods: This descriptive study, using the relational screening model, was conducted with 234 nursing students who studied in the School of Health. Data were collected using Personal Information Form, Motivational Resources and Problems Scale and Perception of Nursing Professional Scale. Data were analysed by definitive statistics, pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results: It was identified that the total professional motivation level and intrinsic motivation level are above the average level and that the extrinsic motivation level is high. It was determined that the point averages of the students' professional perception and professional qualifications sub-dimensions are high and that the professional status point averages was found to be higher than average level. A positive, meaningful and weak relationship was identified between the professional motivation level and the perception of profession among the students. Conclusion: As a result of the study, it has been determined that the professional motivation of the students is a significant factor in affecting the perception of profession
