An Evaluation about Origins of Minstrel Type Earth and Sky Epics

Earth and sky is an important determiner of the concept of creation and the world from proto-Turkish and mythological period. This determining function of earth with sky in Earth and sky epics is an important indicator of sustaining according to the tradition. Minstrels have a very big position and function on this continuity, which contain reproduction of mythic meaning according to time and space. Every code of Turkish culture in oral tradition, which has a historical and collective structure, is carried by an ‘active carrier’ who is a representative of ozan-baks？ tradition. In context of oral culture, which has a historical and collective structure, representatives of ozan-baks？ tradition, who are active carriers, transferred every kind of code. Also the audience, who is part of a performance, has a bigger effect in revealing the collective conscience. Because of this, in this study, motives and beliefs which come from earth and sky thoughts, will be re-read by the earth and sky epics from the proto-Turk and mythological period. By this re-reading, some evaluations on origins of epics will be put forward. On the other hand, we are going to explain cultural continuity of earth and sky motives in epics
