THE USE OF THE ER:YAG LASER FOR DEBONDING IN ALL CERAMIC RESTORATIONS

Objective:The aim of this review was to investigate the litheratures about removing all ceramic restorations by using Er:YAG laser. Methods:In our study Pubmed database was searched by entering the keywords; “laser debonding veneer” (n=6), “laser crown removal” (n=48), “Er:YAG laser ceramic” (n=189). From 2000 to 2018, all studies within the scope of SCI were determined. Seven clinical studies reporting a total of 15 cases and 9 in vitro experimental studies were included. Conclusion:Debonding with Er:YAG laser of all ceramic restorations is a promising treatment protocol. Further clinical trials and studies are needed to determine the precise laser parameters and duration of irradiation that could be used for removal of ceramic restorations with varying thicknesses
