A Social Type: Guest

Looking at the sociology acquis, it is possible to see the traces of social types in the studies. This is because social types play a central role in concretization of social relations, in construction of values and maintenance of socialization. Tracing settled social categories and types in a society means ultimately solving the social structure. Social types play an active role in maintaining the common sense knowledge in everyday life. Types are one of the key concepts of routines, conflicts, gatherings and separations in daily life. This study was conducted with the recognition that social types are one of the ways of understanding a society. In this study, the type “guest” is analyzed. The main concepts that make up the guest type and the institution of being a guest are followed. The changes and transformations experienced by the type of guest and the institution of being a guest in the modern period are discussed in detail
