AN OVERVIEW TO STADIUMS IN TURKEY WITHIN THE SCOPE OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS: ANALYSIS OF SPECTATORS’ ERGONOMICS IN STADIUMS OF KONYA

Nowadays, it is possible to evaluate the sports complex projects in some sports agencys’ standards which are defined as a very important working area of the building trade. The integration of the spectators’ behavior forms in Konya Atatürk (1950) and the Metropolitan Stadium (2014), with the building form, has been evaluated in the ergonomic and structural framework, and the level of meeting the ergonomic needs of the building has been compared at many points. These two stadiums selected as the sample, showing similarities in terms of the construction period in Turkey were discussed together with the other stadiums. Thus, it was supported that Konya Atatürk and Büyük？ehir Stadiums will reflect the periodic features of the stadium in terms of ergonomic and structural developments. The aim of this study was to analyze the ergonomic and structural effects of international stadium standards on the spectator spaces and to determine the positive and negative ergonomic conditions in the stadiums where the standards were applied and not implemented
