REAL AND IDEAL INTEGRATION PERCEPTION OF TURKISH OPINION LEADERS LIVING IN THE NETHERLANDS

The aim of this article is to investigate the opinions and observations of the Turkish opinion leaders in the Netherlands on the integration-issue. The study is based on an online questionnaire with the mentioned population. A total of 55 people participated in the survey. Participants were asked to compare the definitions of their ideal integration with the integration policies of the Dutch government. It has been observed that there is a gap between ideal integration definitions and real integration policies. The most important consequence of this is the disconnect between the government and the immigrant group. This can be seen as an important point of tension in achieving the objectives of the integration policy
