The Effects of Basel Criteria of Basel III criteria applied in Turkey and the Turkish Financial System

Many times, past to present in Turkey and the world economic crisis has seen. The Great Depression of 1929 and the 1979 crises have affected the banking sector of the countries, important banks went bankrupt. To protect banks against crises, the Banking Regulation and Supervision Practices Committee was established under the International Payments Bank. The Banking Regulation and Supervision Practices Committee sets standards in the banking sector and aims to ensure that banks have a safe and strong structure against possible risks. The Committee on Banking Regulation and Supervision Practices published Basel I, Basel II and Basel III Criteria for strong banking. Basel I, Basel II and Basel III criteria were applied in Turkey. The aim of this study is; provide information about the Basel Criteria applied in Turkey and the aim of this course is to review the effects of Basel III
