Attitude Scale Development For Game Of ChessKeywords: Satran?,?l?ek,Tutum,Güvenirlik,Ge?erlik Abstract: The aim of this study is to develop for the game of chess a valid and confidential Likert-type attitude scale. During the process around 100 teachers and 100 chess athlete were asked about what the game of chess means for them. The scale draft with 55 articles was prepared by the feedbacks which were supported with the studies related to the attitude scales. The scale draft with 55 articles was applied on 300 teachers whose validity and confidentiality studies were conducted. After the results of the validity and confidentiality studies the KMO value of the scale was found as 0,942, and the Bartlett test as 10400,885 and p<0,01. According to the results of the analysis of the factor and reliability the factors which values are low and which are overlapping are taken out of the scale. So there arose a scale whose factor loads are between .76 and .94 and which is unidimensional and consists of 16 articles. The total explained variance is 86%. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability factor of the scale is founded as .98. As result there was an explanation that the developed “Attitude scale for the game of chess” is a scale that is expedient, valid, confidential and practical
