Public Administration In Becoming District Governor: Affect Of 2014/6894 Numbered Regulation

The public administration domain in the Public Personnel Selection Examination had a weightened importance for district governor candidates before the regulation amendment in 2014. However, after this amendment, the candidates are taken to the pre-qualification examination for the district governor without having to enter the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS). This study was aimed to determine the situation with content analysis of the related literature, based on the idea that this situation may create negativities for public administration education. As a result of the study, it was concluded that KPSS exam discontinuation of being pre-condition for the examination district governor might decrease the demand of taking education in the public administration department, student motivation and interest of the students in the public administration department and therewith the necessity of public administration education for governors could be questioned
