Problems of The Education System of Kyrgyzstan According to Students' Evaluations

In modern education, the service area, oriented towards the factors that affect students’ success, except school management and teaching services, is called student personnel services. The main purpose of the student personnel services is to provide students to take the advantage of the school. The success of schools in modern education system is possible through the cooperation and coordination of the teaching, management and student personnel services. The general aim of the research is to draw attention to the need for counseling and guidance in educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan. Within the framework of this general objective, it is aimed to identify problems experienced in schools based on the students' evaluations. It is expected that the frequency and severity of the problems to be identified will emphasize the lack of guidance services in schools. Descriptive screening method was used since the research was aimed at the determination of certain situations. According to the requirements of this method the problem scanning inventory was applied to 499 students between the ages of 12-17 and between 7 and 11 classes and the problems were examined and classified. At the end of the research it was determined that most common problems were related to school and courses, personality and worries about future-profession, while problems related to health and nutrition, home and family were among most rare problems. It was observed that the problems were significantly different according to students' gender, age and class level. The findings were discussed and recommendations were developed
