Abstract:

In this study, it is aimed to present the opinions of academicians about science teacher license program which is one of the teaching license programs updated in 2018-2019 period and to evaluate the program by academicians. This study was carried out using a case study pattern which is one of the qualitative research types. The study group consisted of four academicians from the Faculty of Education. In order to determine the academicians who contributed to the research, one of the sampling selection methods, which is easy to reach, is preferred in qualitative research. The interview technique was used as semi-structured interview questions. In this process, the data obtained by the interview technique was done by using the content analysis method which is one of the qualitative data analysis types. Results from analysis: Although the updated program includes innovations according to the previous program, it is stated that the field information, application and field courses are not sufficient in terms of content and that the updates in general culture, elective courses and educational sciences will contribute to the professional development of teacher candidates. The main result is that this program should be updated in line with the expectations of the academicians
