Measurement of the Active Quality of Commercial Banks in Turkey by TOPSIS Method

Banking is a sector that has a great contribution to the development of the economy and the achievement of financial stability besides they are leading the economy as well. Banks that are known to be very effective on the economy are expected to have high asset quality, which is considered one of the indicators of success rates. The purpose of this study, evaluation of the commercial banks’ asset quality that are operating in Turkey, and ranking them according to their asset quality size. For this purpose, the research scope is based on assets announced rankings in 2017 by Banks Association of Turkey, including at the top ten commercial banks and applied Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution technique, in order to get ranking of these commercial banks according to the asset quality in 2013-2017 were obtained. This research is important in terms of the ranking of assets that are one of the success criteria of the banking sector and which are also very important for effective management of assets, and the absence of any research in the literature
