Effect of Straw, Eppendorf and Falcon Tubes on Buck Semen Spermatological Parmeters at +4 ?C StorageKeywords: Teke spermas?,K?sa süreli saklama,Payet,Ependorf tüpü,Falkon tüpü Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different sized straws and test tubes on spermatological parameters during the short-term storage of the Honamli buck semen. In this study, five Honamli bucks were used. Semen was taken twice a week with artificial vagina during the breeding season. The native ejaculates collected from each individual were mixed and diluted with tris egg yolk diluent. The diluted sperm samples were filled into straws (0.25; 0.5 ml), Eppendorf tubes (0.5; 1.5 ml) and Falcon tubes (15; 50 ml) so as to form 6 different groups. stored at +4 ?C. Sperm motility (%), morphologic integrity (%), membrane integrity (HOS test, %) were examined at 24 hour intervals until 96. hour. Although there were no statistically significant differences between the groups on morphological integrity (P>0.05); the highest motility (57.50±2.50%) and membrane integrity (56.00±3.73%) were detected in 0.50 ml straw group (P<0.05). As a result, in terms of motility and membrane integrity the best results were determined in 0.5 ml straw group under storage conditions at +4 ?C
