The Life of Hussein Tevfik Pasha, a Mathematician-Bureaucrat of the Late Ottoman Period

The aim of this article is to provide biographical information on the life of Hussein Tevfik Pasha (1832-1901), an Ottoman mathematician, military general and bureaucrat. It does not cover, however, his mathematical work. The material collected is presented in chronological order, and some part of it can be considered as an addition to the previous studies made on Hussein Tevfik Pasha. The present material can be useful when writing a scientific and comprehensive biography of him in the future
