The Use of Time in Cinema: “Play” Times - “Time” Plays in Slumdog Millionaire

This article, which claims to make different readings of fictional films in the context of “time”, examines Danny Boyle's 2008 Oscar-winner film Slumdog Millionaire. “ie” is always ideological and its definition is related to power. The concept of "play", as well as "time", is a creative element of culture, although often underestimated. In this study, the time processing style of the film is discussed through Jay Griffiths' studies; and the play processing style is handled through Johan Huizinga's studies. In this article, it is tried to question how the system we live in process and transfer "speed" and "time" as a "game" through the cinema industry. The adoption of this approach, which tries to broaden the meaning of the concept of film time, will be possible by testing it in other films
