Determining the Competitiveness of Paper and Paper Products Industry Sector by Using Revealed Comparative Advantage Index

Being strong in the international arena makes it necessary to use the resources correctly and efficiently. Determining the strong sector and product groups and improving their competitive characteristics are the main elements of success. In this study, it is aimed to measure competitiveness at 23 sub-product group level in Paper and Paper Products industry field by using the Revealed Comparative Advantages pproach which has changed in historical process. In the study conducted in 2001-2017 years, calculations were made with six different indexes and competitive advantages were determined at the level of sub-product groups. As a result of the study, it has been determined that there is a competitive advantage in 7 different product groups in the field of paper and paper products. At the sectoral level, recommendations have been defined in order to achieve the desired level of competitiveness
