Modernization and Women

In this work, effects of modernism, rejecting tradition and traditional things however advocating new and newness on women have been examined. First of all, the concept of modernism and the historical development of modernism are explained. At the same time, modernism and position of Eastern Societies have been analyzed in this work. At the end of this work, topic of women and effects of modernism on Turkish modernization and Turkish women have been revealed. As a result of the research, where women has a value in social and political life in during Modernization it seems that women transformed to a target of consumption society and an advertisement and entertainment element and women’s status has altered in a negative way in social and political life, thus, the conclusion of that is compulsory is done
