Performance Analysis of Companies in the Logistics Sector by SWARA and GRA Methods

Businesses must meet customer demands and needs timely and completely so that that they can sustain continuity in their operations. Logistics is the key to responding to customer requests in time and in the desired quality, which involves procurement, storage and transferring of the products. As it is very important for properly managed enterprises, logistics firms must have a strong economic structure to be able to carry out the services demanded. Economic bottlenecks may hinder their services from time to time, which cause dissatisfaction among clients. Therefore, logistics firms should analyze their financial structures at certain intervals and take the necessary measures in time to avoid customer loss. This study measures the economic performance of eight logistics firms listed on the Fortune 500 list in 2016 using 8 criteria. Criterion weights were assessed by Step-Wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA), a multi-criteria decision making method (MCDM), while the economic performances of them were evaluated by Gray Relational Analysis (GRA) method.
