GUESTHOUSE BUSINESS: A RESEARCH FOR AYVALIK REGIONKeywords: Ayval?k,turizm,turist,konukevi i?letmeleri,geleneksel Ayval?k evleri Abstract: Purpose- In this research paper, it is aimed to determine the tourism potential of North Aegean Region’s one of the most important tourism attraction where are Ayval?k and its region under the scrutiny of scientific data, and which level guesthouse business is at. For that purpose, the historical culturel and natural wonders of Ayval?k and its neighborhood where convey characteristic qualities of region as well as the guesthouse business conducted in the traditional architectural style Ayval?k-Cunda houses of region were covered. Methodolgy- While this research was being conducted, 636 customer in total from web sites of operators of Turkey’s holiday and accommodation advisors which are an important source of information nowadays were studied. From those, customer reviews under titles of architectural styls, price cleanliness, breakfast, location, reception and service, home atmosphere for every hostel (guesthouse) were compared respectively and most featured titles of customer reviews were selected as a title. Findings-Under the scope of the research, which of things that were served on questhouse business conducted in central Ayval?k and Cunda Island on traditional Ayval?k houses which have characteristic of old Roman architecture have an effect on customer choice and satisfaction were studied. Under the direction of data gained from both research on Central Ayval?k and Cunda Island; it has been seen that in preferences of customers in Central Ayval?k, primarily the liking of cleanliness and breakfast, but as for customers in Cunda Island, primarily the liking of reception and location came into prominence. Conclusion- In Ayval?k, the demand for existing traditional architecture style questhouse business has crucial function and potential in creating value. Accordingly, to be able to leave the legacy of traditional Ayval?k houses to next generations the rebuilding of abandoned “protected areas”, rendering old houses usable and adistinctive tourism policy by introducing Ayval?k’s historical and cultural values and spatial disparities are recommended
