Solid Waste Management in Eastern Black Sea Region ProvincesKeywords: Kat? At?k Y?netimi,Do?u Karadeniz,Belediye,Bertaraf Abstract: Intensive population growth and urbanization comes together with many environmental problems. One of these environmental problems is anthropogenic solid wastes. If solid wastes from industrial zones, houses and hospitals are not managed properly, they cause problems such as soil, water and air pollution and also threaten public health. A proper waste management is a process that must be carried out by municipalities, including the collection and disposal of waste from the source. In this study, the amount of solid wastes and their management in the Eastern Black Sea Region, which constitutes the North East of Turkey, has been examined. There are Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümü?hane, Ordu, Rize and Trabzon in the region. This amount of waste management in the province and Turkey Statistical Institute figures were obtained from the Provincial Environmental Status Report prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning Provincial Directorate of the web site. The amount of waste generated on the basis of provinces within the scope of the study, the ratio of the municipal population to the total municipal population, the population of the municipality given the waste service, the municipal population provided by the waste service, the number of municipalities provided for the waste service, the amount of municipal waste collected (ton / year), The average amount of municipal waste per person (kg / person-day) and waste disposal methods were examined. With this study, data on solid waste management of the Eastern Black Sea Region were collected and targeted for other projects and also for the management projects planned for similar regions
