Abstract:

In the mass-produced enterprises of metal and plastic injection, the high forces resulting from fatigue, abrasion and frequent parting between the molds during printing caused by large print pieces cause the die elements to become deformed with time. In this case, it is necessary to revise the mold or to remake the defective parts. For production of non-linear geometric parts, 3D solid model data is required in technical drawing or computer environment. If this cannot be achieved, generally Reverse Engineering (TM) application is required. In this study, an injection mold of the Tan itriat industry company was worked on. 2D scan data were obtained by scanning with a 3D scanner in a TM application of a broken part having a non-linear surface of a mold in a non-working state and absent 3D solid model data. In the study, solid geometry models were obtained by straightforward techniques that corrected the eroded ares in the SolidWorks Computer Aided Design program (CAD) within a short period of time without the need for long mathematical correlations of geometry in TM application. The obtained solid model was prepared in the SolidCAM program and the parts were machined in CNC vertical machining center with G and M codes obtained. It is also known that another product is assembled with the mold element being worked on. The result was compared with 2D scanning data in this intermediate product and the result was shared. Successfully printed from the mold using the produced part. In this study, a series of TM applications were carried out without the cost of new mold making and with an exemplary sustainable production
