An Examination on 4th Grade Students’ Skills to Finding Title

Abstract:

The aim of this research is to determine suitability of funded by 4th grade students' text title for creativity, length and mirroring content. The method of the research is relational descriptive survey model. The population of the study is 4th grade students who are attending the state school located in central district of Istanbul Esenler in 2018-2019 academic year. The sample of the study is 308, 4th grade students selected randomly by from this universe. Research results can be listed as follows: The biggest problem of Students is finding original /interesting title. It has been observed that writing short title is almost no difficulty for students. The gender variable has no significant impact on the skills of finding title. Finally students, who understand text deeply, are more successful in finding the title that reflects the content of the text
