Sadness, Depression and Therapy Techniques in Kind?’s Moral Philosophy and Modern Cognitive PsychologyKeywords: Kindi,üzüntü,Modern Psikoloji,Bili?sel Terapi Abstract: In this study, it is aimed to associate Kind?’s thoughts and ideas which focus on sadness and anxiety because of fear of death in Islamic Moral Philosophy and the perspectives of cognitive therapy which is one of the most important contemporary psychological approaches in the same context. In the first part of the study, it will be mentioned about philosophical background of cognitive therapy and Kind?. Afterwards, the explanations of sadness and depression in cognitive therapy, generally based on Aaron Beck, and Kind? respectively. After, therapy techniques of cognitive approach for sadness and depression and Kindi’s remedies in his reasoning system will be evaluated. It is important to take into consideration Kind?’s point of view considers humanbeing as having ability to deal with sadness by power of thinking. Thus, people are able to get rid of sadness thanks to getting habits. As a similar perspective, according to cognitive therapy, if people can change their way of thinking, they can manage their feelings. Thus, cognitive therapy states that thinking has priority on feelings. Therefore, if it can be examined thoughts underlying feelings, one can be saved from this situation. Briefly, in this study, cognitive therapy in modern psychology and Kindi’s writing about “Remedies to deal with Sadness” will be tried to evaluate in certain perspectives, similar and different points will be discussed
