Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions of tourism guiding students towards the concept of "Turkish Cuisine" by the metaphor method. The research was conducted with 281 students studying in Bal?kesir University Tourism Faculty Tourism Guiding Department. A semi-structured questionnaire was prepared in the study. In the questionnaire form, participants were asked, “Turkish Cuisine is like.., because..". The perceptions of tourism guiding students towards the concept of "Turkish Cuisine" were solved by content analysis which is one of the qualitative research methods. A total of 154 metaphors were developed regarding the concept of "Turkish Cuisine" in the research. 10 categories were developed for the developed metaphors. This study is important in terms of revealing the perceptions of tourism guiding students towards the concept of "Turkish Cuisine" which is the important part of the Turkish culture and eliminating negative perceptions
