Is National Organization of Forensic Social Work Code of Ethics Document Applicable in Turkey? A Qualitative Research with Turkish Forensic Social Workers

In Turkey, the process of institutionalization of the social work as a profession has not yet been completed, which creates a challenge in terms of the determining the standards on the implementation of professional practices in sub-social work areas and in terms of implementing the practices in accordance with ethical principles and values. There is a need for ethical principles and values in order to institutionalize the professional practices in the field of forensic social work, which is one of the sub-professional practice areas of social work. In this context, this is a qualitative research, in which views on adaptability of Organization of American Forensic Social Work Code of Ethics Certificate to Turkey are discussed together with ethical issues and responsibilities of the social workers working in the field of forensic social for the agency they work, colleagues, clients and society, as well as the findings of the interviews, conducted through semi-structured forms with 13 social workers and for which the content analysis were carried out
