Effect of Temperature and Zenith Angle on Panel Power Generation in Photovoltaic Panels

Abstract:

There are many different renewable sources in the world. Solar energy is one of the most widely used sources. Photovoltaic panels are used to convert solar energy into electrical energy. The two most important parameters affecting the efficiency of photovoltaic panels are the panel temperature and the zenith angle. The effect of these two parameters on panel efficiency was investigated on an experimental setup established in Konya region. In the study, four equivalent photovoltaic panels were used. To check the temperature of the panels, chilled water was passed through the aluminum channels placed on the back surface. As a result of the data obtained from the experimental test setup, an increase of 11.17% output power was observed in the cooling panels. It is observed that panels with zenit angle adjustment produce 7.49% more energy than the fixed panel. Seasonal angle values were measured with panels positioned differently. As a result of the proper adjustment of the two parameters, it was determined that the panels we used in the experimental setup produced 17.47% more energy
