Suicide Attempts and Retrospective Social Study

This study, which is considered as a public health problem, is an activity of social work application in order to prevent the suicidal behavior which is caused by multiple causes. It also identifies the problems of client systems and evaluates the social assesment and social assesment report. It focuses on the comparison with psychological autopsy, which is a research tool. Psychological autopsy is a systematic tool formed around a retrospective view to illuminate suicides or other suspicious deaths. The social assesment to be organized with a retrospective overview and the social assesment reports to be created as a result will contribute to the social work interventions aimed at solving the problems of the client systems who are or are at risk of suicide. Social assesment and psychological autopsy are capable of fulfilling a complementary role in the investigation, evaluation and prevention of suicide attempts. In this study, the interaction of different systems intertwined in micro, mezzo and macro levels which are effective in revealing suicidal behavior are discussed
