The Importance of Essential Oil Isolated From Orange Peel (Citrus sinensis L.)

Essential oils derived from aromatic plants by various methods has been used since ancient times. Many of them are known to have beneficial effects. Our country is very rich in plants containing essential oils and our flora’s of 1/3 is consist medical and aromatic plants. The essential oils is used in the food industry, cosmetics industry and in medicine. The other hand, it was determined by the investigator that essential oils activate the gastrointestinal tract and increase the enzymes production. So that the body weight gain, feed efficiency and carcass performance increased. The essential oils isolated from Orange peel (Citrus sinensis L.) as a natural feed additive and have antimicrobial activity interest increased. Many researches have been made for use as natural feed additive in poultry nutrition. In this research, the essential oils improvement in parameters such as live weight gain, feed intake, feed efficiency, egg production and carcass yield significant has been reported
