THE PROBLEM OF ALCOHOLISM AMONG KYRGYZSTAN YOUTH

The purpose of this study is to identify the reasons of addiction to alcohol among youth in Kyrgyzstan. The survey was prepared for this research and applied to 170 people who are between 18-29 years old using snowball sampling in capital city Bishkek. The "Personal Information Form" which includes 11 questions was used to determine the frequency of alcohol use and the demographic characteristics of the people involved. Data from the study were analyzed using SPSS program. According to the results of the study, it was determined that the age of starting alcohol consumption among young people is gradually decreasing, and it was also determined that men and women are at the equal risk. It was found that the first alcohol experience of the young people took place under the direct influence of the family and friends, and the individuals who took alcohol in their family are more likely to normalize the use of alcohol. It has been determined that the main reason for young people to use alcohol is to be accepted by friends and, it was observed that the widespread detrimental situations at the time of being drank are arrests and injuries
