Mothers Preparation Levels in the Tablet

Abstract:

It is very important to prepare mothers for discharge in order to prevent or reduce complications in the postpartum period. This descriptive study was conducted at Birth Clinic of the Kayseri Training and Research Hospital in order to determine the level of readiness of the mothers for hospital discharge after delivery. 166 women (83 vaginal deliveries, 83 cesarean deliveries) who were illiterate, without risky pregnancies and birth stories, but healthy newborns delivered during the period (37-42 weeks), communicated verbally and accepted to be participated in the study included in the study. The data of the study were collected using the "Personal Information Form" and so they were the "Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale-Newborn Mothers Form" (RHDS-NMF). The data were analyzed by Shapiro-Wilk, Square, Mann-Whitney U tests. The level of readiness of women to be discharged was found as 27.7% in the mothers with cesarean deliveries while it was found as 14.4% in the mothers with vaginal deliveries. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups (p>0.05). The total score of discharge preparation scale for discharge was 111.0 for women in the vaginal delivery group and 124.0 for the cesarean delivery group (p<0.001). The mean of scores of the women who stated they were ready to dicharge were 106.0 while the mean of scores of the women who thought they were not ready to discharge were 122.0 (p=0.001). It was determined that the vast majority of the women in both the vaginal and cesarean delivery groups were not ready for discharge but the vaginal delivery of women is better prepare
