Evaluation of Creative Problem Solving Process Scale: The Adaptation Study into Turkish

Abstract:

It is expected from the education system to raise individuals who can think creatively and analytically, look around from a wide perspective, communicate with other individuals and innovate in group work, but it is also known that traditional teaching methods and techniques dump down the creative thinking skills. It is thought that the role of collaborative learning environments is very important in the development of creative thinking and CPS skills of individuals. In the study of Lavonen, Autio and Meisalo in 2004, a case study on the opinions of elementary preservice teachers on creative problem solving in technology education was carried out. The aim of this study is to adapt in Turkish the scale created by Lavonen et al. The original scale was originally translated into Turkish by two English teachers who were experts in the field. An expert opinion from a Turkish Language and Literature teacher was also required for the examination in terms of language. The scale translated into Turkish has been translated into English by 5 different English teachers who are experts in their fields. Whether there is a difference in meaning between this scale and the original state was examined by a different English teacher. In order to determine the internal reliability of this scale, which is adapted to the Turkish language, it is aimed to determine the internal reliability of the scale by taking into account the in the Ege University Faculty of Education 335 preservice in the academic year of 2016-2017. It has been taken into consideration that preservice teachers are to learn by cooperative learning method until now. The internal reliability coefficient (cronbach alpha) of the items in the scale was found to be 0.9
