Structure Elements of Düzce-Konuralp’s Traditional Houses

Konuralp settlement of Düzce province is located on the road between Düzce-Ak？akoca. Although Düzce and its surroundings are rich in terms of residential architecture, the artifacts of this region have not been studied sufficiently. In the settlement, which is an important settlement and cultural center in history, it was observed that the traditional houses of the settlement which were investigated in different ways were not mentioned. Some of the buildings have been registered in the provincial culture inventory and other houses should be registered and protected as soon as possible. In terms of home architecture, it is possible to see the characteristics of traditional Turkish house architecture in Konuralp settlement which has similar features with many regions. Konuralp houses, which are evaluated in terms of building elements, are dated to the 20th century. Structural system, facade designs, materials and technical aspects of those houses were examined. It is possible to see the masonry on the facades which are undecorated. The study provides general idea about the region’s structural elements which are being published first time
